After getting out of the Mechanic Records deal, how did the band’s next record deal come about?
noxon selected answer
The band had talks with another label called Atco Records (now EastWest), a division of Elektra Records, before being able to get out of the Mechanic Records deal. There was an understanding that if the band was able to get out of their prior record deal, that Acto would sign them if they could record a professional demo. This was called ‘The Acto Demos’ and included songs ‘Metropolis,’ ‘To Live Forever,’ and ‘Take The Time.’
