How much material did the band write in preparation for recording what would be Falling Into Infinity?
The band wrote over two albums worth of material of which a substantial amount didn’t end up being released on the album. The record label, at the time, was going through various changes and wasn’t giving the band the green light to begin the recording process. In the meantime, the band continued to write music.
All of the demos written in these sessions were released on Ytsejam Records on the “Falling Into Infinity Demos”. The tracks were:
Raise The Knife
Where Are You Now?
Take Away My Pain
You Or Me
Anna Lee
Burning My Soul
The Way It Used To Be
Lines In The Sand
Just Let Me Breathe
Peruvian Skies
Trial Of Tears
Cover My Eyes
Hollow Years
New Millennium
Speak To Me
Notable changes to the released version of songs were “You Or Me” which was rewritten slightly by Desmond Child and called “You Not Me”.
Burning My Soul was split into two songs – the instrumental break section was excised and made into its own piece called “Hell’s Kitchen”.
