The owner of BearTracks Studios, where DT recorded Images and Words, was Jay Beckenstein of the band Spyro Gyra. He was asked to do a guest appearance on “Another Day” during the Images and Words recording sessions, as is explained on Live in Tokyo.
He would later return to play a sax solo on “Through Her Eyes” on “Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory”, although this version was not used on the album (but can be found on the single). He also performed a live sax solo on “Take Away My Pain” on the live album “Once in a Livetime”, and would perform the “Another Day” sax solo live on the live album “Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York”.
